40th Anniversary Alumni Weekend

Agenda, Graduating Senior Info, This Weekend's Results

Alumni Weekend Begins Tomorrow

Both men’s and women’s programs played their final games this past Saturday with some good results. Everyone’s attention now fully turns to the alumni celebrations. I know that some of you may be on your way to the Hudson Valley as we speak, so consider this a last-minute reminder for details this weekend.

Senior Day Wrap-Up: Wins, Firsts, and Final Whistles

This past Sunday, both New Paltz teams closed out their spring campaigns with spirited performances at home.

The men’s team hosted Vassar and Oneonta for a full day of rugby and senior celebrations. In sevens play, the Hawks shut out Vassar 15-0, fell 7-19 in a second matchup, and beat Oneonta 27-7. The B-side then played a 30-minute 15s period against Vassar's combined A/B squad, ending in a 10-10 draw.

The day also marked a major personal milestone for Captain and President Caleb Persanis, who made his 100th appearance in a Hawks jersey - an incredible display of dedication and leadership over four years. Standout player Taha Sayed earned his 50th cap for the team.

The women’s team hosted Drew and Molloy, and while both matches ended in defeat, they broke through with their first points of the season. Gloria Losurdo and Maddy Mihaley each crossed the try line, with Maddy’s score set up by a line-breaking run and offload from Emma Riutta. A well-earned highlight to close out the spring.

Support Our Seniors – One Conversation Can Mean Everything

As we honor the graduating class of 2024, we ask our alumni to take a moment to connect.

Remember how daunting graduation felt?
How much easier would it have been to talk with someone who had already navigated rugby and real life after New Paltz?

Whether it’s five minutes on the sideline or over a beverage after the game, your words of encouragement, insight, or career advice could make all the difference.
